He leverages his more than 30 years of global experience to drive Interac growth and deliver shared value for its Canadian Financial Institution customers and for the millions of Canadians using its debit, money movement and verification services. Shilpa Arora is the Head of Strategy at Interac, where she leads strategic growth initiatives, including identifying and influencing emerging trends shaping the payments ecosystem. With nearly two decades of international experience, Shilpa has held senior leadership roles across corporate strategy, mergers & acquisitions, innovation and digital transformation. She has been recognized as WXN Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women and is one of Executive Woman's 2025 Power 100 honorees. Shilpa brings deep experience in Strategy & Transformation having led banking strategy, digital enablement, and business optimization at one of Canada’s top financial institutions. Her previous roles include serving as General Manager – Canada at DoorDash, where she oversaw international strategy and operations and leading Strategy and Innovation at Loblaw. As a resilient leader in technology, Shilpa is a passionate advocate for diversity, inclusion and intersectional representation in the workplace. She actively mentors emerging women leaders and champions equitable leadership. She holds an MBA in Analytical Finance and Strategic Marketing from Indian School of Business and is a Certified Business Valuator (CBV), in addition to being a trained architect and CFA III candidate.

Ireen Birungi is a seasoned cybersecurity senior leader with over two decades of experience leading enterprise scale information security, cyber risk, and resilience programs across highly regulated environments. As Head of Information Security and CISO at Interac Corp., she is accountable for safeguarding Canada’s critical payment infrastructure and identity services ensuring their security, resilience, and regulatory compliance. In her role, Ireen leads Interac’s enterprise cybersecurity strategy, spanning governance, risk management, security operations, identity and access management, cloud and application security, and cyber resilience. She has successfully guided the organization through complex regulatory and supervisory engagements, including alignment with Bank of Canada expectations for Prominent Payment Systems, the Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA), PCI DSS, and ISO/IEC 27001 certification. Beyond her enterprise responsibilities, Ireen is an active contributor to the broader cybersecurity community. She participates in national and international security forums, collaborates with financial sector peers, regulators, ecosystem partners and contributes to industry initiatives focused on strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructure and the Canadian financial, digital payments and identity services sector. Her leadership style emphasizes transparency, accountability, and talent development, with a strong focus on building high performing, diverse security teams Ireen holds a degree in Economics from the University of Toronto and cybersecurity designations: CISSP, CISM, and CRISC, featured article and speaker on Information Security, Women in Payments nomination, nomination for an OBRIE, a prestigious executive leadership awards that recognize outstanding technology leaders, an active member of various security forums and community groups of C-level executives and a strong advocate for leadership development and inclusive culture in cybersecurity, she mentors emerging leaders and supports programs that expand opportunities for the next generation of security professionals.

David Bruyea is the Group Head, Financial Crimes at Interac, bringing more than 25 years of distinguished leadership experience across Canada’s financial services sector. He has held senior executive roles at CIBC and Deloitte, where he advised financial institutions and government agencies on large scale transformation initiatives. David is widely recognized for his deep expertise at the intersection of payments, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and advanced technology, and for leading complex modernization and protection programs critical to national infrastructure. His career highlights include the creation of Canada’s first fully integrated Cyber, Fraud, and Corporate Security function, as well as executive leadership of major payment modernization initiatives with an unwavering focus on resilience, trust, and systemic integrity.

John Collinson is Head, RTR and Technology & Operations at Interac and is responsible for leading our RTR Technical Operator services, and RTR Exchange software for Canada’s Real-Time Rails payments infrastructure. He brings over 30 years of experience in technology and financial services in Canada and the US, and is known for his expertise in large scale business technology transformation across many business domains, including payments, core banking, wealth management and insurance.

Anuj Dhall is Group Head, Technology & Operations at Interac and is responsible for leading our technology strategy, delivery and operations across all of our products and services. He brings over 30 years of global experience in CIO/CTO and strategy consulting roles within the financial services industry, delivering innovative and exceptionally engineered systems. In prior senior executive roles at GE Capital, CIBC and BMO, Anuj spearheaded transformative programs such as Canada's first mobile banking and first cloud-native call centre platforms. At Interac, Anuj is focused on leading the technology organization in driving our Agile operating model and the modernization of our critical systems and services to deliver on our commitment of building a more prosperous digital future for Canadians.

As a strategic and innovative HR executive, Sudha is known for translating organizational vision into impactful programs that strengthen performance, employee engagement, profitability, and long-term growth. She is widely recognized as an empowering leader who supports executive leadership and organizations with a unique perspective, grounded in the belief that human beings are an organization’s greatest assets – a philosophy that has shaped her decades long career across the financial, technology and medical services sectors. Recognized as an empowering leader and one of the Top 100 Professionals in Canada by The Official Top 100 Magazine, Sudha has built a strong reputation as a changemaker and brings deep expertise in talent management, organizational development, M&A integration and enterprise-wide transformation. As Group Head, Legal, Compliance and Regulatory, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Conni is responsible for legal, privacy, corporate governance, compliance, legal operations, network participant regulation and internal audit. Conni brings over 20 years of extensive compliance and legal experience and knowledge in technology and operations as well as managing acquisitions, securities and derivatives in the financial services industry. Prior to Interac, Conni served in a number of leadership roles at Bank of Montreal in Toronto and New York, most recently as Vice-President and Chief Legal Officer of Technology and Operations and Corporate Areas, where she drove transformational change to ensure legal and compliance programs met regulatory expectations and best practices.

Anurag is responsible for money movement products such as Interac e-Transfer, Batch Payables & Receivables and International Remittances. His focus is on the day-to-day management activities for the products and the execution of the product strategy through new product development. Anurag has 15 years of experience in the payments industry, with a speciality in money movement. Prior to joining the organization, Anurag worked in Retail Banking, within the payments space. He has a passion for bringing solutions to market that simplifies the day-to-day payment interactions for individuals.

Chris Lee

Chris joined Interac as the head of Debit in February 2024. Prior to joining Interac, Chris spent the last 10 years with Scotiabank, most recently as the Vice President of Retail Lending and Payments, where he led product teams for Visa & Interac Debit, Interac e-Transfer, cross border payments, BNPL and unsecured lending. During his time at Scotiabank, Chris was a key contributor in the bank’s agile transformation, leading the formation of the agile teams in Scotia Digital and bringing payment innovations such as installment payments and instant wallet provisioning to Scotiabank customers. Prior to Scotiabank, Chris was a strategy and technology consultant with Deloitte, MasterCard and Accenture, serving clients in the payments and financial services industry. Chris completed his Engineering degree at the University of Waterloo and MBA at the University of Toronto.

A seasoned financial services leader, he has built, launched and scaled products in both the Canadian and U.S. markets. Prior to joining Interac, D’Arcy held senior roles at Scotiabank, where he oversaw Retail Payments, Unsecured Lending, Credit Card, Investment and Deposit portfolios, and led a major agile transformation spanning 500 employees. He also held leadership roles at TD Bank in Savings & Investing, Cross Border and Digital Channel Integration. D’Arcy is known for driving innovation, operational excellence and customer focused product delivery.

Lauren plays a key role at Interac in maintaining consistency in our narrative across various platforms, aligning closely with our corporate strategy to effectively communicate to both internal stakeholders and external audiences. Over the past six years, Lauren has advanced through senior roles, successfully growing our employee engagement strategy, enhancing our brand's market presence, and providing steady leadership in issues management.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services and technology sectors, Fatema brings a wealth of expertise in leading innovative product strategies, digital transformation, and operational excellence. In her current role at Interac, Fatema spearheads the Verified Product division, focusing on creating secure, seamless, and scalable solutions for customers, with a commitment to enhancing the company’s product offerings in the digital identity landscape.
Previously, as Vice-President of the Enterprise Digital team at CIBC, Fatema led over 300 team members, building and scaling foundational digital capabilities across the bank. Her track record includes driving strategic brand partnerships, implementing digital hybrid models, and transforming the digital ecosystem to create impactful client experiences. She has consistently delivered growth, driving product innovation and transformation within large-scale organizations.
Fatema is widely regarded as a visionary leader known for motivating high-performing teams, nurturing talent, and championing inclusive leadership. In 2020, Fatema was recognized as one of WXN’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada.
Outside of work, Fatema is deeply committed to climate change advocacy and an avid traveler, she enjoys exploring the world with her family and seeking new adventures whenever possible.

Prior to Interac, Giles was a founding team member of Carta Worldwide, a Canadian fintech platform, where he led the business development function from inception through international expansion and acquisition in 2021. With a background in finance, Giles’ career has primarily focused on driving growth within emerging technology sectors, including work with leading financial and technology organizations in Canada, US and around the globe.

With more than two decades of experience across payments, ecommerce, and fraud prevention, Kris brings deep expertise in building and scaling trusted financial products. Before joining Interac to lead Konek, he served as Head of Product for Amazon Pay, where he oversaw global initiatives to simplify checkout and elevate digital commerce experiences for millions of customers. His career also includes senior leadership roles at Forter, American Express, and Powered by People, where he consistently focused on enabling secure, frictionless transactions. Today, Kris is guiding Konek’s vision to become Canada’s leading way to pay - delivering a modern, interoperable platform grounded in trust, security, and ease of use. His work is central to shaping the next generation of payment experiences for Canadians and the financial institutions that serve them.

Head, Government Relations & External Affairs
Keiller Zed is Head, Government Relations and External Affairs at Interac, where he leads the organization’s external engagement strategy, building relationships with Canadian public sector stakeholders and representing Interac in key industry forums to advance Canada’s digital economy. He brings nearly 15 years of experience in public affairs, corporate communications, and strategic advisory work. Most recently, Keiller served as Vice President, Corporate Advisory & Public Affairs at Hill & Knowlton (Burson), where he led major national accounts and advised senior executives on aligning commercial priorities with public policy and long-term reputation goals. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly a decade in government and political roles in Canada and the UK, advising senior leaders and supporting campaigns. He holds a Master’s in International Relations from Royal Holloway, University of London, a Master’s in Public Policy from King’s College London, and a BA in Political Science from St. Francis Xavier University.
