For the first time, the Interac verification service app is available for download as another option to verify your personal information easily and securely
TORONTO, November 28, 2022 – Interac Corp., one of Canada’s most trusted brands, today announced updates to two verification products used by millions of Canadians to verify their information in order to access public and private sector services. Interac® verification service is now the new name for Verified.Me and Interac® document verification service is the new name for Document Verification by Verified.Me. Both services will be enhanced over the coming months to allow Canadians to continue verifying and authenticating information digitally while maintaining control of their privacy.

Interac verification service helps Canadians verify their personal information online, in-person or by using a mobile device to sign up for new digital services. It allows users to authenticate themselves quickly and securely by establishing a trusted connection with their financial institution using their existing login information. Customers of participating financial institutions can use the Interac verification service network. The Interac verification service app is also available to download for the very first time as just another convenient option to easily and securely access services online.
Interac document verification service helps Canadians verify their personal information using government-issued photo ID and advanced biometrics from participating service providers. It eliminates the need to make an in-person visit to access online services that require proof of identity. The service combines advanced fraud management and advanced facial biometric analysis that meet strong security protocols.
Interac verification services work together to improve security and reduce fraud for various sensitive use cases such as accessing your credit score, registering for financial services, applying for credit, or accessing health information. When using Interac services, Canadians can be confident knowing that their information is safe, secure, and protected by industry leading security and privacy protocols. Additionally, no party involved in any Interac service can trace the user’s journey.
These changes come after the recently renamed Interac® sign-in service to replace Government Sign-In by Verified.Me, and follows a 2021 agreement that saw Interac acquire the exclusive Canadian rights for the services.
