Leger has unveiled their 28th annual list of most reputable companies according to Canadians in 2025, with Interac topping the financial services sector
Toronto, ON, April 11, 2025 – Interac Corp. (Interac) today announced that it has been recognized as the #1 most reputable financial services brand in Canada according to the annual Leger Reputation Study*. Interac has also been recognized as the 7th most reputable brand in Canada.
The Reputation Study by Leger is a 28-year tradition and it has become a benchmark for measuring corporate reputation in Canada and monitoring changes over time. This year, Leger surveyed more than 38,000 Canadians to explore their perspectives on 326 companies across 30 different sectors.
“I am proud of the recognition Interac has received on the Leger Reputation Study,” said Jeremy Wilmot, President & CEO at Interac. “Every day, more than 30 million Canadians put their trust in our products and services to move their money and data safely and securely. This recognition propels us forward, reinforcing our commitment to empower Canadians with secure, innovative solutions and lead them confidently to digital prosperity.”
Interac is one of only three Canadian brands recognized on Leger’s Top 10 Most Admired Companies in Canada list, recognized as the 2nd Most Admired Canadian company. This accolade comes at a time of increasing political and economic uncertainty, compounded by rising tariff threats. In such challenging times, recognition of reputable Canadian brands, including small businesses, are more essential than ever, offering reassurance to consumers while also fueling the economy.
In fact, a new survey from Interac reveals that nearly eight in 10 Canadians (79 per cent) agree that supporting local businesses feels more important than it did at this time last year. More than two thirds of Canadians polled (68 per cent) believe the way they choose to spend their own money has a direct impact on their local community.
For more than 40 years, Interac has been a steadfast partner for Canadian small businesses, delivering innovative, secure, and cost-effective payment solutions designed to empower entrepreneurs and fuel growth. Recently, Interac launched a new national campaign encouraging Canadians to shop local and tap Canadian.
“As a brand made in Canada and for Canada, our commitment to supporting local retailers—the backbone of our economy—is unwavering,” said Debbie Gamble, Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer at Interac. “Our payment and verification solutions, such as Interac e-Transfer for Business, Interac Verified, and Interac Debit, are not only low-cost and secure, but they also support small businesses in managing their cash flow and scale with confidence.”
