Rachel Adjei is the owner and operator of the Abibiman Project, an African food business that celebrates all the different ingredients and flavours that are often not present in Western food culture.
Rachel leverages the Interac e-Transfer platform as a fast and secure way to receive payment from her customers. She also uses the Interac e-Transfer service to give back to her community. On a monthly basis, she donates a portion of her profits to the Afri-Can FoodBasket, an organization in Toronto that grants access to culturally appropriate foods for the African Canadian community.

Our commitment to small business and community investment
COVID-19 has starkly highlighted the importance of community, togetherness and standing up for one another – all principles Interac proudly champions. In times uncharacteristically more challenging than we’re accustomed to, we’re committed and doing our part to build a better future for all Canadians. This includes focusing our community-giving efforts on supporting small businesses that continue to face the brunt of the pandemic and community organizations that support vulnerable communities.
