What is your name and job?
My name is Gabrielle Sinclair and I’m the Participant Affairs Manager at Interac.
What does a typical day at Interac look like for you?
No one day is the same! A typical day includes conducting due diligence on prospective clients, approving Participants who have met all our onboarding requirements, and managing our service-level Advisory Committees where Interac consults with clients.
What is your favourite part of your job?
My favourite part of my job is collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. My work exposes me to so many other functional areas at Interac which has allowed me to learn more about those parts of the business and build relationships with colleagues. It also allows me to interface with our clients – whether it’s to assess and move them closer to launching in market or to gather their feedback on new Interac initiatives. I truly get the best of both worlds.
What comes to mind when you think about your journey at Interac?
Endless opportunities. Every day I have the chance to gain new knowledge, meet amazing people, get involved internally and in the community. I also get to attend industry events and develop in both my personal and professional career.
Where would you like to see your career grow at Interac?
I’d love to continue to work with new teams, engage with external stakeholders, and grow my career to really contribute to the ways Canadian consumers and businesses are able to make and receive payments.
What is an interesting fact about you?
I wouldn’t want to see the amount of money I’ve spent attending concerts! I thought there wouldn’t be any shows for some time given the COVID-19 restrictions, but I was wrong… I attended my very first drive-in concert in August which featured views of the city, singing through the sunroof, and car horns substituting for cheering.
What makes Interac a unique place to work?
Interac is unique because it has a small community feel but plays a large role in the lives of consumers and businesses across the country. Different thinking styles are encouraged at Interac and we’re able to see the impact of our work in market.
