Companies succe<\/span>ed<\/span> because of great employees and at <\/span>Interac<\/span>, w<\/span>e<\/span> know we wouldn\u2019t be where we are today without the <\/span>contributions <\/span>made by each member of <\/span>our team<\/span>. <\/span>Th<\/span>is<\/span> is why Employee Appreciation Week has become an annual <\/span>Interac<\/span> tradition<\/span>.<\/span> Though we hope our employees feel <\/span>appreciated <\/span>all <\/span>year round, <\/span>Employee Appreciation Week<\/span> <\/span>offers an opportunity for<\/span> <\/span>our leadership team to say \u2018thank <\/span>you\u2019 for their <\/span>tireless<\/span> efforts<\/span> <\/span>ensur<\/span>ing<\/span> our platforms, products, and services continue to operate smoothly for Canadians. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>years<\/span> <\/span>past, <\/span>Employee Appreciation Week<\/span> has<\/span> involved <\/span>in<\/span>–<\/span>person <\/span>celebrations<\/span> complete with <\/span>tasty treats from local food trucks<\/span> <\/span>and<\/span> ice cream sundae bars<\/span>, friendly competition, and <\/span>a lot<\/span> <\/span>of laughs. This year, <\/span>as C<\/span>OVID<\/span>-19 has kept us apart, <\/span>our employee-led Social Committee had to think outside the box to bring Employee Appreciation Week to life<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Taking into consideration<\/span> the dedication and resilience our employees have shown<\/span> during these difficult times, <\/span>as well as<\/span> <\/span>the impact COVID-19 has had on local small businesses, we decided to partner with Toronto vendors to create experiential packages that our staff could enjoy at home. Each employee <\/span>was able<\/span> to <\/span>select<\/span> <\/span>the experience of their liking<\/span>, which was then <\/span>delivered to the<\/span>ir<\/span> doorstep. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

These gifts <\/span>\u2013 which ranged from self-care kits to an at-home beer tour<\/span> <\/span>\u2013 <\/span>not<\/span> <\/span>only allowed us to show gratitude to our employees but also invest <\/span>in supporting small businesses during the pandemic. Below are some highlights from Employee Appreciation Week along with an overview of the local businesses we were pleased to partner <\/span>with<\/span>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n\n

Amsterdam Brewery<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

A local Toronto craft brewery that was founded in 1986. They pride themselves on putting as much craft and care into their beer, as all the things that happen around it. Fun fact? Cup of Te<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

Cup of <\/span>Te<\/span> was founded in 2018 by Taylor Lindsay-Noel who was determined to overcome a life-defining situation that left her paralyzed from the neck down and wheelchair-bound for life. She launched Cup of <\/span>Te<\/span> with the intention of offering the world\u2019s finest loose<\/span>–<\/span>leaf organic teas at fair prices and has received recognition globally for the quality of her products and services. Good Cheese<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

Highland Creek MedSpa<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

The Candy Bar Toronto<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

The Candy Bar Toronto was launched in 2012 and is know<\/span>n<\/span> as the #1 place for chocoholics and candy lovers. They sell over 200 varieties of candy for those with a sweet tooth and are located just north of Trinity <\/span>Bellwoods<\/span>.
