This designation, made under the <em>Payment Clearing and Settlement Act<\/em>, reflects the integral role that <em>Interac<\/em> Debit and contactless solutions play in the lives of Canadians and the Canadian economy.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The designation applies to <em>Interac <\/em>Debit<em>, Interac<\/em> Debit Contactless Payments<em>, Interac <\/em>Mobile Debit<em> and Interac <\/em>Token Service Provider. As a PPS, these products will fall under the oversight of the Bank of Canada and its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bankofcanada.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/criteria-risk-management-standards.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">defined risk management standards<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, the <em>Interac<\/em> e-Transfer service was also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bankofcanada.ca\/2020\/08\/interac-e-transfer-prominent-payment-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">designated a PPS<\/a> by the BOC. Like this new designation, the <em>Interac <\/em>e-Transfer PPS designation acknowledged the growth and critical nature of the <em>Interac<\/em> e-Transfer service.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interac recognizes the important role that regulatory oversight plays in the health of our financial ecosystem and is committed to meeting its compliance requirements.
