Sheila is a seasoned financial executive with more than 30 years of executive leadership experience with some of Canada\u2019s most prominent financial institutions. Sheila\u2019s career spans business, strategy, risk, and financial management and includes several strategic business transformations.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to joining Central 1, Sheila was Chief Financial Officer at Payments Canada, which operates the country\u2019s payments clearing and settlement systems. This follows a 17-year career at the Bank of Canada as Chief Risk Officer, and Advisor to the Governor, and Chief Financial Officer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As President and CEO at Central 1, Sheila is responsible for leading the organization to deliver on its purpose of enabling a thriving credit union system. Transformation is a key tenet of Sheila\u2019s mandate as she guides the organization, its members and clients through challenging market conditions and the rapid pace of innovation that is changing the face of the credit union sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A vibrant credit union system is important to the overall financial ecosystem and Sheila\u2019s appointment to the Interac Board will help continue to build trust in the ecosystem as a central part of Canada\u2019s economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
