INTERAC® Online adds Rogers Wireless and Fido to its growing list of merchants

Toronto, ON, May 11, 2009 – The INTERAC Online payment service marks another milestone, with the addition of Rogers Wireless and Fido to its growing list of national and independent merchants who offer the INTERAC Online payment option for their services.

INTERAC Online allows Canadian Internet users to pay for goods or services directly from their bank accounts. Rogers, Canada's largest wireless phone provider, will now begin offering the INTERAC Online payment option for its Rogers Wireless and Fido prepaid customers who need to top up their air-time minutes.

"Canadians have embraced INTERAC as a payment option and are among the highest debit users compared to other countries around the world, so naturally they appreciate the idea of having INTERAC debit available in the online environment that's secure and easy to use," said Allen Wright, VP Products, Acxsys Corporation. "The addition of INTERAC Online to the Rogers.com and Fido.ca websites will allow customers to use the popular debit method of payment to top up their air-time minutes simply, securely and conveniently."

INTERAC Online is secure and easy-to-use because it is integrated with the customer's existing and trusted online bank account. For customers, this means the transaction is authenticated within their online banking websites, not the merchant websites, so personal financial information, such as a card number, is never disclosed to the merchant or a third party. For merchants, the real-time good funds model means the merchant is guaranteed payment.

"Canadians are looking for reliable and secure payment options so they are choosing INTERAC Online in ever-increasing numbers," said Wright. "From national retailers, to not-for-profit entities, to those in the education sector, organizations across Canada are responding to consumer demand for debit."

Chase Paymentech, a leading payment processor and the merchant acquirer of record for Rogers, will be instrumental in enabling Rogers Wireless and Fido customers to take advantage of INTERAC Online.

"INTERAC Online is a truly innovative payment technology, and we are pleased to help a key client like Rogers Wireless enable it," said Stephen Mandzak, Director of Relationship Management for Chase Paymentech.
