Cross Border Debit: Use your debit card in the USA

Shop in the United States using the secure convenience of your debit card. Cross Border Debit allows you touse your debit card at more than two million retailers located in the U.S.

Cross Border Debit is offered through a partnership between Acxsys Corporation and NYCE Payments Network, LLC, a leading U.S. debit network and an FIS™ company.


The following financial institutions are currently participating in the Cross Border Debit service:

  • ATB Financial
  • Credit Union Central of Canada*
  • Desjardins
  • National Bank of Canada
  • RBC Royal Bank
  • Scotiabank
  • TD Canada Trust

* Not all Canadian credit unions participate in the Cross Border Debit service. Please contact your credit union directly to confirm if you can use your credit union debit card at U.S. retailers that accept NYCE®.

Acxsys International ABM Service 

The Acxsys International ABM Service enables foreign cardholders to withdraw cash at participating Canadian ABM’s while visiting Canada.

Currently, over 60% of Canadian ABM’s participate in the International ABM service.

Two payment networks currently participate in the service today. Travellers to Canada holding a card from one of these payment networks can identify participating ABMs through the display of the following logos:
