Step 1 - Initiate a Money Transfer from your online bank account.
Log in to online banking at a participating financial institution and go to the Western Union money transfers via Interac e-Transfer section to enter the recipient’s information. Enter the required fields and confirm your money transfer. If a recipient email address is provided, the recipient is notified that a money transfer has been sent.
Step 2 - Provide the MTCN (Money Transfer Control Number).
Once you have confirmed your money transfer, you will receive a MTCN. Provide the MTCN to the intended recipient and instruct the recipient to visit a Western Union® Agent location in the payout country, and if applicable, state, to claim the funds. Once at a Western Union Agent location, the recipient must present valid identification and the MTCN before the funds can be released.5
