Mark O’Connell
President and CEO

Mark O’Connell is the President and CEO of Interac Association and Acxsys Corporation.

As President and CEO, Mark oversees the Interac brand and the operation of the Interac network.  Mark is also responsible for leading the development of new and enhanced Interac products and services, and fraud prevention solutions.   

Mr. O’Connell has extensive experience in the payment card and banking technology industries. Previously he was Executive Vice President, Finance Market at Emergis Inc., (now Telus) and represented Emergis Inc. on the Interac Association Board of Directors for two years.

A graduate of McGill University and the University of Windsor’s MBA program, Mark has also studied finance at the Harvard Business School.

 
Amanda Holden
Vice President, Operations, Security, Technology and Fraud

Amanda is the Vice President of Operations, Security, Technology and Fraud for Interac Association and Acxsys Corporation.  

In her role, Amanda leads all technical and operational oversight for the INTERAC Inter Member Network and Acxsys payment products and services.

Previously, Amanda was Vice President, Operations at Visa Canada, where she was responsible for all operational and technology functions for the Canada region including service delivery, network and technology support, project and implementation management, production support, client services, fraud management, infrastructure, acceptance, information systems and commercial and processing products.  

Amanda holds an Honors Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario and a Certificate in Bankcard Management from Visa Europe School of Business.


Kirkland Morris
Vice President, Enterprise Strategy, Interac Association and Acxsys Corporation

Kirkland is the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy for Interac Association and Acxsys Corporation.

Kirkland is responsible for the broad-based direction of the organization and also oversees the Association’s ongoing efforts to restructure in response to a dynamically changing payments marketplace.

Kirkland led work on the industry-level business case that drove the decision to migrate debit card services to EMVTM chip technology, and was responsible for the development and implementation of an overall chip migration program for Interac Shared Services.

Previously, Kirkland worked as an economist with the Department of Finance Canada.  He holds an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Dalhousie University and a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

 
Gerry McDonald
Chief Financial Officer

Gerry McDonald is the Chief Financial Officer of Interac Association and Acxsys Corporation.

In his role Gerry is responsible for Acxsys Corporation's finance, administration, and human resource functions. He also serves as Chief Financial Officer for Interac Association.

Gerry brings 30 years of experience as a financial professional to the organization, having previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Resolve Corporation until its sale to Davis & Henderson. Prior to Resolve, Mr. McDonald served in a number of roles for Minacs Worldwide Inc. up to and after its sale to Aditya Birla Limited in 2006.  

Over his career, Mr. McDonald has managed all aspects of the finance function including several large mergers and acquisitions.  In addition he has been CFO of a number of publicly listed companies and has completed a successful initial public offering on NASDAQ. He started his career with KPMG in 1979. Mr. McDonald is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Marc-André Lacombe
Corporate Secretary and Chief Legal and Development Officer

Marc-André Lacombe is the Corporate Secretary and Chief Legal and Development Officer for Acxsys Corporation and Interac Association.  

Marc-André oversees the management of legal affairs for both Interac Association and Acxsys Corporation.  

He began his career in the legal department of Manufacturers Life in Waterloo, Ontario and also worked with the Canadian Bankers Association as a foreign trade and independent business analyst, and later as legal counsel.  

Marc-André obtained his Honours B.A., International Studies from Glendon College, York University. He then completed his LL.L. (Civil law) magna cum laude in 1984, and his LL.B., both at the University of Ottawa.  He has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1985 and the Law Society of Upper Canada since 1987.  


Barry Campbell
Vice President, Client Management and Marketing

As Vice President, Client Management and Marketing for Interac Association and Acxys Corporation, Barry oversees national relationship management for all client channels in Canada, including financial institutions, acquirer processors and ATM operators, as well as various national industry stakeholders. He  also oversees the Marketing group, responsible for brand strategy and product campaigns and promotions.

Previously he was Executive Director, Channels, with BCE Emergis overseeing the deployment of new payment and e-Commerce initiatives across the country.  Prior to that he spent 15 years at TD Financial Group with his most recent roles including Director of Sales at TD MarketSite and Director, Corporate Accounts at TD Securities.

Barry holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University.


Lorna Johnson
Senior Vice President, Products, Services and Innovation

Lorna Johnson is the Senior Vice President, Product, Services and Innovation for Interac Association and Axcsys Corporation.. Lorna leads all product decisions and development activities for card, virtual, mobile and small business solutions.

Ms. Johnson has extensive experience in transformational leadership, transactional banking and payments in highly regulated markets. Previously, she was General Manager M&A and General Manager Consumer Solutions Strategy for National Australia Bank; Head of Deposits, Transactional Banking, Payments and e-Channels for Saint George Bank (Westpac); Board Director with B-Pay, Australia’s largest on-line bill-payment network and; Management Consultant with Booz & Company.

Ms. Johnson holds an MBA and a MES from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of New Brunswick.
